Gay Life in Jakarta

Hi everyone,

I was wondering, how is the "gay life" in Jakarta now?
Are people starting to opening up/ "coming out" about their identity? And how was the folks and society out there? Have they been able to accept the uniqueness and difference of gay people?

Also, what's up now in Jakarta? Any new trends, style, hang out activities, etc??

coming out from the closet? seems to me PLU from the low class family is more open about their sexuality, especially if the person in question is the breadwinner of the family... (s)he/she can do anything (s)he want . But the upper and middle class is more restraint... they have more at stakes... prestige etc. Of course there are exceptions... like Ch1m0x... very young, from upper class family... successfuly coming out to the family

hmm.... not all people in indonesia can understand it. it's the hardest thing to say to someone that don't want to know about it..
'bout i'm glad coz i already told my mother about i am and she can understand that without yelling at me or something terrible. in here, we have to know the situation before telling the truth about us/ coming out.

Hmm... sounds hard and complicated...
But even in the more open and liberal society, I heard gay is not always acceptable. If I'm not mistaken, I heard sometime ago that G.W. Bush as the president from republican party pledged that he'll ban gay marriage in the States... (though, some states, like MA legallized gay marriage already) ...anyone knows more bout that??

Yep itu benar....tapi yang sudah legal itu udah di beberapa state deh kalau nggak salah bukan cuma di MA doang. Tapi pastinya tanyalah ke yang bermukim di sana
